–       Poke – this is mostly for users’ informal interaction, but it is not recommended for businesses

–       Status – this tells users new information about you and your business page

–       Tag – this is used for marking photos or videos in order to identify someone

On YouTube, you only need to create an account, upload your videos, and popularize them through other social media platforms. Keep track of your customers, by posting replies to their comments.

–       Like – this allows people to like your videos

–       View – a record of the number of views for a video

On Google+, you will benefit of a step-by-step guide on how to setup your own page and your account. After that, you will be allowed to add people and contacts and organize them in circles. After that, you can install the Google+ badge on your website, and direct people from there to your Google+ profile. Use this page to post new content, status updates and so on.

What to keep in mind:

–       Circle – a way of categorizing your contacts

–       Green – a green button signals a post is public

–       Blue – a blue button signals that a post is only viewable by people in your circles

–       Hangout – a chat-like feature

On Tumblr, you need to choose a theme when setting up your account. After that, you need to start posting, and remember that adding pictures can take you a long way. The best way of interacting with others is by commenting, sharing and following their posts.

–       Heart – the way Tumblr users show they like a post

–       Tag – a categorization methods useful for searches

On Digg, you need to setup an account and upload content that other people can bookmark. You can encourage people to ‘digg’ your posts, by posting links to them on other social media websites.
